Hungry for God

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (ESV) Matthew 5:3

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. (ESV) Matthew 5:6

How can we experience Kingdom power and God’s sovereign move in our lives? How can we experience God’s power, presence and more of Him in our lives? Why some Christians are used by God in a mighty way and other are not? Why some see something that God does differently in their lives and others are not? Why some Christians are very casual and other are always on fire for God? May be, the answer for these questions is hunger for God. There is a saying that hunger for God grabs His attention. Poor in the spirit will see Kingdom power. They will possess the blessings of the Kingdom of God. If we feel that we do not need more God and His move in our lives, we will not see His work in us. Spiritual hunger, thirst and feeling poor in spirit lead a person to seek after God like deer pants for the waters in prayer, making adjustments with life before God, worship, fellowship and meditating the word.

What is the level of spiritual hunger that you have? If you spiritual hunger is very low, ask Holy Spirit to stir up a hunger for God.
