Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. (ESV) Matthew 18:19-20
There is a lot of power in agreement between two or more believers. When two agree and pray, God answers. When two or more gather, Jesus’ presence manifests. This is why cooperate prayer and gathering is very powerful. Church is portrayed as a body and building in the Bible. In both comparisons, the need of one another or agreement between the parts are emphasized. This is why unity in the church or between believers are important. Devil knows a united church is a threat to him. Therefore, Satan’s main strategy is to divide and conquer. Jesus said that “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls” (ESV, Luke 11:17). Disunity hinders prayer and brings set back to the Kingdom of God whereas agreement in the purposes of God brings effective prayer and the manifested presence of Jesus among us. When we do not agree one another, we hinder our own spiritual progress and answers of our prayers. Agreement is not uniformity but unity in diversity and sense of importance on purposes of God in our lives and church. Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! (ESV) Psalms 133:1.
Let us agree with one another in our families, church and in the Kingdom of God on the purpose of God and pray together to bring an end time revival- really heaven on this earth.
