God is with you in your darkest night


I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. ” 16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” 17 He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.” (NIV) Genesis 28:15-17

Jacob was running away from his home. He was alone, probably lonely and fearful. In the night, God appeared to him in a  dream and he realized God’s presence. Sometime we may be in the place where everything turns against us and may even doubt God’s presence with us. In such moment of loneliness and distress, we may even think whether God hears our prayers or not. Many such questions may pass through our hearts. Jacob was probably in such a situation when the  Lord met him personally. God surely will meet us in our darkest moment and reveal his plan for us. He will never leave you and He is always with you. Your mother may forget u but your God will not forget you.

Jacob all of sudden realized that he is under open heaven and covering of angels in his season of darkness in his life. In the darkest night of Jacob’s life and a season of uncertainities -issues, God promised him that He will watch over his life and gave him a promise of blessings. Then God assured him that He will not leave Jacob till He fulfill His promises to Jacob.Similarly, God is watching over us and fighting our battles in the dark seasons of our life to fulfill His promises in our life with His accompanying presence.

Many books written in this period in Hebrew came to light through the discoveries of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
