5 The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;

Psalmist acknowledges that Lord is his portion and cup. It indicates that nothing satisfies the Psalmist other than God himself. He put his trust in God and he choose Him as his portion than anything else in the world. Probably every cup and every portion coming from this world can run out but the Lord is always a refreshing source of every kind of provision in our lives. Life may take many turns but Lord holds your lot. He provides to us every blessing. No one can take away it and no situation can affect it. Since God holds your lot, you need to expect a beautiful inheritance. Seeing a situation or thinking about uncertain future, we should not be shaken. Rather we should have this assurance in our heart that Lord is my lot. We need to completely trust that God is our provider. We live in His providential care. Your heavenly dad is your loving provider. Do not worry about anything rather submit everything to God in prayer and thanksgiving. Make Him as your portion and your inheritance will come to you.
